One of the oldest establishments in Melbourne, The Courthouse Hotel, has been beautifully restored through the combined efforts of architect, Alana Cooke and builder, Blueprint commercial.
The Courthouse Hotel has been perfectly designed to create a cozy and comfortable environment. We love how different brown hues have been used together to create an intriguing and dynamic space. The dark tones of our EZR1010 Chocolate Zellige tiles are balanced beautifully by the lighter timbers.
Through a painstakingly careful process, Alana Cooke and Blueprint Commercial restored features such as the original wooden panelling, floorboards, and art deco finishes. It took the team almost twelve months to complete, but we think it was absolutely worth it.

Located in sunny Rancho Santa Fe, California, Elizabeth Louise Interiors with the help of GG Tile & Design, created a resort style home within the existing Spanish architecture. With a vision to create an east coast meets west coast style of design, fun interchanging colors and shapes throughout the property helped define spaces and bring a cohesive look. Coastal colors along with deep green as an accent were used to compliment a fresh green golf course the space overlooks.
Elizabeth Louise Interiors Studio utilised Tilesofezra’s extensive Zellige Colour Collection to integrate a range of greens & blues into their border design. Elizabeth Louise Interior's use of EZRBRD2102 border adds a vibrant pop of colour that draws your eye around the expansive outdoor retreat, following a theme of Moroccan tiles as you travel through the unique space. Adding to the resort vibe is an outdoor shower and jacuzzi adorned in EZR0192 mosaic in Snow & Blue Grass continuing the coastal feel.
With the homes completion in the summer of 2023, the family wanted amenities and a space that embodies entertainment and relaxation. The family loved certain elements of the original home and wanted notes of it in the new design. This inspired Elizabeth Louise Interiors to place niches around the property, some being built into the side of the home giving character to specific spaces and artwork through our tiles.
Tiles used were ordered through GG Tile & Design, then designed in San Diego. With over 51 U.S Distributors, find one today that can help bring your design dream to life.

Catch up on Episode 5 of Georgia Ezra and Richie Morris' new TV show, Design Down Under! Available now in the US to watch on Magnolia Network on TV, or stream on Max & Discovery plus.
In this episode, a couple has big plans for renovation after moving into their family home. Georgia and Richie try to restore the house’s legacy while making the space work for the clients' modern lifestyle.
Georgia & Richie work to create a more modern lifestyle for a family of 4, from a 1970’s Mentone home that has been passed down through the generations. Throughout the kitchen, Georgia & Richie’s goal was to open up the space and create a more modern aesthetic all whilst keeping the original feel of the house. Used as a sink & stovetop splashback is our EZR1010 in Dust to compliment the modern joinery and natural tones.
In the upstairs bathroom, Georgia & Richie worked to remove the bath in order to make a bigger, more functional space. With the floor and wall being wrapped in our EZR1505 Duck Egg Blue Mosaic, Georgia has created a fresh, more modern space that is comfortable to be in.
Georgia sourced vintage wooden cupboard doors to hide clutter & open up the space. Allowing a more modern aesthetic to evolve, whilst celebrating the legacy created by the homeowners father. The tonal variation in our EZR1010 in Moroccan Pink allows for a warm, homely feel in the living space and compliments the newly installed timber floor & roof.

In this episode, Georgia and Richie renovate an oceanfront midcentury house for clients seeking a modern makeover. They take on the challenge of bringing different textures to the home to take its aesthetic to the next level.
Georgia & Richie work to create a WOW factor in this Torquay home’s entrance. The initial goal was to turn this house into a home for a young family of 4. In the entrance and living space, Georgia & Richie utilised stacked stone to create a feature wall and add personality to the home. To create some warmth within this space, the floor is made up of our EZR1550 Clay Bejmat tile.
In the upstairs bathroom, Georgia & Richie wanted to create a warm, homely space. In order to achieve this, our tonal EZTIER1010 Ash has been used as the floor tile to compliment the wooden cabinetry, with a warm custom limestone wrapping around the shower area.
In the living room & kitchen space, the aim was to create an open and inviting space, perfect for entertaining (with a big dining table for lots of guests!) with an abundance of natural materials. To complement the picturesque Torquay view, Georgia & Richie played around with the layout of the TV / couch space and created another stacked stone feature wall, featured again is our EZR1550 Clay Bejmat wrapping around the base to add more texture.

A fireplace like no other... meticulously crafted with our 20x20cm Clay Zellige tiles, the Grimshaw home’s floor to ceiling fireplace brings a beachside atmosphere to the living room, all whilst creating a sense of warmth and texture within the space. Georgia continues with the beachside theme through the use of recycled antique plates used as decor throughout the living room and custom lighting shades.
Georgia incorporates functionality in the kitchen through the island bench. Wrapped in our EZR1505 Moroccan Pink mosaic tile, the benchtop acts as a vibrant focal point that beautifully opens up the kitchen space. The island bench, wrapped in recycled oak timber allows for extra storage space through the kitchen and compliments the subtle pink walls throughout the home.
To create some fun within the space, Georgia uses a harmonious blend of EZRTS1010 Seaweed & Seashell, the checkerboard floor tile creates personality and charm, instantly captivating guests with its timeless appeal.

As you look through the gold framed windows it’s like you are peeking into another world, one of wonder and delight.
Mörk Chocolate is all those things and more, founded by Kiril and Josefin – husband and wife, we couldn’t be more excited about their brand-new opening in Queen Victoria Market. The couple had their eye on the previous old cake shop that resided there for quite some time and dreamed of restoring it to its full glory. They brought in talented interior architect Daniella Oerman, to create an authentic heritage feel and genuine retail experience, and Tilesofezra is so honoured to have our tiles be part of that vision.
The design isn’t the only thing that has us drooling – just take a look at those s’mores! Daniella Oerman did a fantastic job of creating a space that not only looks beautiful, but replicates the way a sip of hot chocolate feels on a winter day, or that first bite of twice baked chocolate cake. Because when it comes to design, it’s about more than just how a place looks, but how it feels. The rich warm tones, pops of colours and clean lines all work together to create a cozy and magical space. Talk to one of our qualified interior designers to find out how you can create this same effect in your interior.
We love the unique twist on a classic checkerboard pattern, combining three different colours from our Zellige range. The deep tones of EZR1010 Rust, softened by the EZR1010 Moroccan Pink and EZR1010 Dust, creates a fun and captivating effect. The swoon-worthy colour palette is so cohesive that even Mörk Chocolate’s packaging fits in seamlessly! Those are actually the original marble counters you see there, with Danielle incorporating solid walnut wood and brass features to create a seamless look across the heritage of the market. The gorgeous finer details of the install, such as the illuminated signage and menu board is thanks to Pretty Polly Designs, whose custom creations really is the cherry on top.
|Recreate this look in your space|
The utterly scrumptious hot chocolate you see below is where it all began, Kiril and Josefin first perfected the campfire hot chocolate – a drink that invokes nostalgia through wood fire smoke, torched marshmallow, charcoal salt, and pure dark chocolate. Then they moved onto crafting sweet treats such as cinnamon buns and cake, using the chocolate they make from bean to bar. Just like the Swedish Kolasnitt biscuit recipe, the art of making Zellige tiles has been handed down through generations. Some other decadent desserts include twice baked chocolate cake, Yuzu & pistachio bundt cake and Caramelised hazelnut cake – don’t mind us visiting daily to work our way through the entire menu. This was a dream they waited ten years for, to be housed in the iconic and heritage rich Dairy Produce Hall in the Queen Victoria Market and we are so happy for the whole Mörk team.
Now you may not be able to eat our Zellige tiles but if you’d like to see it in person, come visit our showroom or order a sample.

We’d like to introduce you to our brand-new Moroccan Limestone.
This product comes in three different shades; Atlas, Sahara, and Meknes, as well as a range of shape and size variations. To craft an experiential interior, each piece should contribute to an overall story and energy. Which is why the name of each shade ties directly to Morocco.
This is the story of our Moroccan Limestone.
The Atlas Mountains is a mountain range that span across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. The soft grey tones and faint white etchings emulate the appearance of this stunning mountain range. But more than aesthetics, we wanted to capture that serenity as you should feel at peace within your home.
Although only bordering part of Morocco, we were inspired by the rugged beauty of the world’s largest hot desert in the world. We emulated this exquisite wonder in the rugged pockmarked surface of this tile.
Meknes is a beautiful city located in northern central Morocco that is known for its ancient worldly architect. We strived to re-create that awe inspiring feeling you get when you are confronted with something much bigger and older than you are. You should always feel wonder at the space you created. The grey intermixed with the beige creates a distinctive pattern, with the natural variation truly create a striking finished look.
There’s no need to compromise on your specific design vision with each shade coming in a multitude of shape and size options. From small sizes such as our 5x5cm diamond, to larger sizes such as our 30x60cm rectangles, your choices are endless.

Emma first came to Georgia to use and buy high quality Zellige from Tilesofezra in her home, and from that was born a beautiful relationship of interior designer and home owner. Together, they took a dull, tired property and transformed it into an experiential moving home that deeply connects to Emma’s beautiful life. Out of Melbourne, Victoria, Georgia guides Emma through re-making her house located southwest of Sydney, NSW. You may be wondering, how does one style a house that you have never stepped into?
By developing a method that harnesses modern technology and the trust between them: “I would send materials to Emma, then we’d have video meetings with the swatches and samples in front of us,” says Georgia.
Over in Melbourne, Georgia would be busy designing custom joinery and bathroom plans and selecting paint colours, wallpapers, fixtures and furnishings. Meanwhile, Emma would check how these looked in situ and report back to Georgia. This strategy wasn’t without its struggles - “Not being able to see the colours in the space was the biggest challenge for me,” says Georgia. But looking at the end result you would never think that Georgia wasn’t right there alongside Emma, crafting a home of wonder.
Most renovations do away with the old, but in this instance it was important to keep all the treasures of Emma’s life – and such a rich life that is. Emma has collected a multitude of gorgeous items, from hundreds of books to beloved furniture and artwork. Georgia couldn’t be happier helping Emma have a home “that really reflected her as a person, her history, her travels”. She did this through reupholstering antiques, carefully positioning collected classics and then layering it with contemporary pieces.
Georgia emphasises that “a house should tell a story and provide depth and layers.”
At Tiles of Ezra we believe in telling stories through our products, where the handmade nature of each tile contains beautiful energy and depth, a feeling that feeds out into the home and felt by the end user. Featured here is our EZR1505 a 5x5cm zellige mosaic in the shade Dust which adds dimension and texture to a paired back bathroom. The natural tonal variation is the perfect fit for a layered home, which is filled to the brim with many exciting tales.

Spanish for peach and reminiscent of Mediterranean summers, Melocoton is too cute not fall in love with instantly. Chantel, our Sales Manager, says “a lot of people are really loving peach tones in their interior at the moment, so we knew it was important to have a tile that matches this need.” A bold colour like this can be daunting when committing to a life-long purchase, but peach shades are actually incredibly versatile. Depending on the colours you choose to pair with Melocoton, you can embrace the romance, elevate the elegance, or balance it out with contrasting colours.

Most of our green Zellige tiles lean towards a blue undertone, so we knew it was vital to bring in a green that was more yellow and brown toned. Sometimes a space needs something darker to bring in drama and intrigue, which is what Oliva was created for. Moody, captivating and utterly divine, Oliva is a great permanent guest to have in your home 😉. The wonderful thing about the shade green is that it brings colour into your space without being jarring or overwhelming. It also doesn’t limit you with further colour choices, as there are so many hues that pair beautifully with it. Just like its name (which is Spanish for Olive) Oliva can complement a smorgasbord of styles, from earthy and organic, to moody or even clean and contemporary.

Coming up with the names for each new product or colour we bring out is always so much fun to do. Stratus went through many iterations as we searched for the perfect name to capture this beautiful tile. We threw out names like Daisy, Frost, Lily, Milk and finally paused at ‘Cloud’. Emily, our National Manager, excitedly blurted out “Stratus! It’s the flattest cloud” Now I didn’t know anything about types of clouds, and in case you don’t either, Stratus is the lowest hanging cloud, that is a uniform colour, sometimes grey, but typically a bright white. The perfect name for a tile that is a pure, stunning white. Stratus is similar to our Snow Zellige tile, but doesn’t have the same pink undertones, and the glaze is less opaque. Stratus also has greater consistency across the board, but still maintains that beautiful handmade style. Stratus is still up in the sky and hasn’t fully landed yet but place your pre-order here.
We created Chameleon, a soft grey with green undertones that is instantly calming - walk into a room with this tile and you can’t help but feel relaxed. We have received feedback that this colour takes on its surroundings - hence the name it so well deserves. Put it against our tile Latte and you see it as Latte’s cousin, hold it against blue tones and instantly you see more green hues coming out. An absolutely magical tile that delights everyone. Chameleon hasn’t landed and still hiding for the time being but place your pre-order here.
Another Spanish name (can you tell we love Spain?) with Sal translating to salt – think pink Himalayan salt. We know not everyone is going to want the boldness of Melocoton, so we created a softer version for those still wanting a peach tone.

Neutrals will forever be an essential staple in interior design, but sometimes it can be trickier finding that perfect neutral shade than going with a bold colour. Insert Oat, a beautiful "warm white" with a beige undertone that adds dimension and interest, and can be paired with absolutely any other colour. Oat has an organic earthy look to it that brings in a really beautiful cosy atmosphere into any space. Oat is still growing and hasn’t fully ripened yet, but place your pre-order here.

Balancing Eras
Reclaiming elements from the 1800s and drawing from current style, Ellie Dichler creates a harmonious push and pull between the two eras. She elevates the traditional feel of the space with classic bronze hardware on the cabinetry. Whereas the gleaming whites and overall neutral colour palette make the space more contemporary. The bathroom flooring is reminiscent of a palace, and the gold framing of the mirror subtly speaks to the typical ornate mirrors of the Victorian style. Essentially, the finer elements reflect Victorian sensibilities, but when you look at the house as a whole, the minimal and paired back design gives it that modern look.
Here's what Ellie Dichler had to say about it…
Tell Us a Little About the Project
It was a residential project of a Victorian House in South West London. The client wanted their whole house refurbished so we renovated every bathroom and the kitchen. The clients were a dream and we had lots of fun designing the spaces.
A sneak peek at what the kitchen looked like before...
What Did You Like About Tiles of Ezra’s Products?
I loved the tiles due to their imperfections and the fact that every single tile is a different colour. It creates an aged look which we love, we didn’t want a regular machine-made tile. It’s truly timeless.
Get The Look
Our EZR1010 Dust Zellige tiles is the perfect fit for a neutral colour palette as it still adds depth, movement and a dynamic energy to a space.
Our EZR1550 Thin Snow Bejmat adds an elegant and fresh touch to any area, and is beloved by many for a kitchen splashback.

Goodbye Grey, Hello Colour
Although there is a beauty in the simplicity of minimalism, in the new year Emily anticipates a change coming. The days of paring back décor, monochromatic colour palettes and utility taking the forefront, are gone. Instead, maximalism is making its stake in the game, arriving in a flair of bold colours and a riot of shades. Emily couldn’t be more excited. Hues like fiery red, dark blue and grass green are taking front stage – either in small splashes or daringly dominating a space. Bright colours are a simple way to create eye-catching spaces that brighten the mood of anyone that steps into it. Don’t be afraid to be striking in 2023.
Details, details, details
Chantel eagerly awaits a year filled with a variety of materials, layers, and unique variations. She predicts depth and detail becoming the forefront of a home, where different elements can play off one another, building an intricate story. Being environmentally conscious is on most people’s minds coming into 2023. From this, it’s likely there will be a resurgence of handcrafted designs using skilled trades and artists that operate in sustainable manners. Chantel predicts the return of the skilled tradie. A year where homeowners find new appreciation for bespoke architectural elements; hand moulded and laboured over by skilled craftsman creating custom made pieces and finishes that tell a story of uniqueness and value. There are so many elements involved in interior design, but instead of getting overwhelmed, consider it a complex puzzle with each piece being handpicked by yourself. You get to decide what story you want your home to tell.
Unusual Combinations
Although there will always be popularity amongst selecting a single hue, Tarsh proposes a rise in patterns and interesting texture combinations. This can look like selecting a piece that has ingrained patterns, such as a floral vase, or creating a design from multiple pieces. Tarsh loves the comeback of soft furnishings, where traditionally hard furnishings are used, such as material over cupboard doors. The only limitations with interior design are the ones you place upon yourself.
We are so excited to see how you will choose to design your space in 2023.

]]>Introducing Sand and Earth…
50 Shades of Clay
We created Sand and Earth to bring the beauty of earth and a sense of warmth to your interiors. Although new, these tiles continue to preserve ancient traditions from our community in Vietnam. These unglazed clay tiles can be styled together in a number of ways, or kept separate to let their unique variations shine through. Lovingly handcrafted, each tile is a work of art. Limited stock is already available, get in touch with our team today at 1300 050 525.
Delicate Sand
The pale golden hues invoke the peace of endless beaches and days spent under the sun. This tile would look beautiful anywhere but can really enhance rustic coastal or farmhouse style houses.
Deep Earth
The warm terracotta undertones instil a sense of contentment you can find in the Australian desert’s exquisite beauty. Mexican and Industrial styles compliment Earth beautifully, but again, this is a tile that suits any space.

]]>Four years in the making, arriving at such a beautiful outcome was no easy feat. Restrictions and rigorous lockdowns, an incredibly steep site and a bushfire attack level (BAL) zone of 29 were just some of the hurdles faced... and conquered.
In today's blog, we chat to Monica Grimshaw to talk us through her New Zealand beauty and her personal interior style. Cue serious interior inspo...
Pssst: This moroccan tile and Moroccan rug combo (from Bohzali rugs) is heaven!
Located in Rangitahi Peninsula, Raglan, New Zealand, the project is a new build by architectural designer Tane from Red Architects and featuring interior design by myself.
Inspired by past European Summers, I wanted to create a home that felt really authentic as if I had been transported back to a Mediterranean villa.
Monica opted for a mix of Saltillo terracotta and moroccan unglazed zellige. Looking for your dream earthy tile? Explore our range of options here.
Think Terrazzo is dated? Think again. In this 19th century terrace in Potts Point, NSW, Tamsin Johnson shows us the true meaning of Italian Flair. With veined marble, stand out joinery and vintage, carefully hand-sourced furniture speckled throughout the home, the space is utterly exquisite.
Tamsin opted to go with our handmade terrazzo 10x10cm tiles in two contrasting shades to elevate the floor finish. We also spy a Tilesofezra zellige shower ;)

Being an artist’s home, we wanted each piece within the home to feel carefully curated as if the space was a gallery itself. Heavily inspired by Japanese interiors, each space is minimal and highly functional. With the use of American Walnut, deep greens and ceramic tiles, the spaces feel warm, textured and understated.
Stylish and carefully curated decor pieces created points of interest amongst the calm.
My personal style and aesthetic isn’t always very illustrated in our projects as we like to customise each design to our clients. I would say that our style is minimalist, raw and earthy. You’ll notice in all our projects that we include unique tiles, hardwoods, plants, earthy hues and a clear appreciation for beautiful lighting.

Rich timber is the perfect material choice for the kitchen space, adding warmth and some subtle character to the space.
‘’The apartment evolved organically and as a result there is such a feeling of warmth and comfort in this space that friends and family are always commenting on. It was truly one of my favourite projects.’’
The Bowman Farmhouse was a renovation of a 1940’s farmhouse, located on the family’s dairy farm in Gloucester N.S.W. We wanted to create a home that we could start a family in and create new memories in whilst remembering our family who the home originally belonged to.
The build was a labour of love for all involved. We are so lucky to have had a team that trusted our vision, and that we could trust to execute it down to the finest detail. A majority of those who worked on our home are some of our best of friends, so the entire project was a dream come true and really fun.
Tom & myself came up with the initial concept and design for The Bowman Farmhouse, it was then brought to life by Jacobs Building, along with some other great suppliers such as Dream Tiling & Stone, and SBP plumbing. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing team and are so grateful for all of their hard work.
From the beginning of the project we wanted to make sure we payed homage to the space by respecting and restoring certain elements that made the home unique such as it’s original doors, and some gorgeous exposed brick we have incorporated into our kitchen island. You can really feel the character throughout the home, and that’s exactly what we wanted as it was originally Tom’s grandparents home.
We have kept the original footprint, but have opened up multiple spaces to let more natural light into the home and accommodate a modern day lifestyle. There were a lot of small rooms and that’s just not how people live these days, it’s a lot more social and inclusive. We love to entertain so a big open kitchen and dining was a non negotiable!
Tiles of Ezra is a style leader in the design industry, so as soon as we began to storyboard the initial concept I knew they had to be included somewhere. We decided to use them in the kitchen to help achieve the refined yet effortless country house feel we were going for.
The handcrafted Zellige tile was an easy choice for us as it has a beautiful texture and comes in such a versatile range of colours. We chose to go with the ‘dust’ colour as it is subtle yet warm and makes the green of the hinterland through the windows really pop.
Timeless!
Maddi and Tom opted for our EZR1010 in Dust.
We went for a calm earthy meets modern retreat. The home was a new build with awkward angles and layout, so we introduced varying materials and finishes on particular surfaces to dramatise certain areas and make those awkward zones features of the home.
Recreate this forever timeless look with our cement instock basics.
We're particularly loving the shape and tone of this spearmint brick.

We sat down with Maree to chat about her own home project.
The project was a full refurbishment of a Brisbane Ascot, Queenslander Home. This was a dream come true! I wanted this powder room to be colourful, fun & luxurious for visitors. A powder room is somewhere you can express your individual tastes... I call it my international bathroom - it brings together a world of colour and pattern, Australian, German, Spanish, Italian, Moroccan, USA & French elements to create a really inspiring, individual space.
Your moroccan tiles were soured from Elite Tiles & Bathware and tiling by Korpac tiling Brisbane. I opted for a handmade, emerald green, Spanish ceramic basin. The Gold mirror is a 19th century French Antique from Magnolia Interiors. The wallpaper is by Anna Spiro and the sconce is from Noosa Discovery.
There are so many elements of this space that the Tilesofezra team adore, but our fave has got to be (Completely unbiased opinion by the way!) how the mosaics reference the colours and styles disbursed around the space. They have the fortuitous ability to tie everything n this bright, layered bathroom together.
I love the story behind the handmade mosaics; I love that you are supporting craftsman and artisans around the world, helping to break the cycle of poverty by supporting local communities. I also love that you can create your own patterns and you have an extensive colour range to choose from, although this is a very specialised area for design. I love that I was able to find the wallpaper and tiles to complement each other in pattern and colour.
Ingenious, vibrant, sculpture
These were supplied through Elite Bathware & Tiles Brisbane. They were really fun to work with and had a lot of knowledge of your product so they were able to guide me through while choosing.
The star of the show is our Avocado EZR1010.
