Profiled | A Forever Home Redefined
From Transitional House to Sanctuary
What began as a renovation for practicality and resale blossomed into something far deeper. It became a transformation that turned a once-disjointed house into a forever home. Guided by bold compositional changes and thoughtful material choices, this project became a masterclass in aligning flow, function, and spirit.

A New Flow for Family Life
When Studio Ezra was brought into the project as the design studio, the homeowners, a vibrant family with three children, initially envisioned only minor updates such as a more functional kitchen and a new pantry. However, the existing layout lacked cohesion, the kitchen felt dark and disconnected, and the adjoining rooms were mismatched and underused. What began as a simple refresh soon evolved into a complete reorientation of the home’s flow and energy.
By relocating the kitchen to the back of the house, the design aligned the heart of the home with the light, the garden, and the natural rhythm of family life. What was once transitional became permanent, a home ready to host Shabbat dinners, Jewish festivals, and the everyday joy of family living.

Crafting Continuity
Throughout the home, natural materials were chosen with care to ground its grandeur in warmth and authenticity. At the entrance, reclaimed timber doors set the tone, leading into interiors unified by the timeless artistry of our limestone collections, with EZRML3030 Sahara featured in the hallway.
Across the main living areas, EZRMLOCT Sahara limestone creates a sense of visual continuity, linking rooms not just physically but emotionally. These selections were not just finishes but anchors of identity, chosen for their authenticity and ability to connect heritage, function, and design into a seamless whole.

In the guest bathroom, smaller square limestone tiles provide subtle rhythm and texture, echoing the handmade qualities woven through the project. The same limestone flooring continues into the laundry, where EZR1010 Latte tiles line the walls, ensuring both consistency and a warm, textural flow

A Second Sanctuary
In the main bathroom, soft EZR1010 Latte tiles wrap the walls in warmth, their subtle tones creating a calming retreat. Underfoot, the EZRML1515 Sahara limestone grounds the space with timeless texture, following the same palette as in the laundry room to create consistency.

Details with Meaning
Every detail of the renovation carried intention. Parquetry floors were sanded back to reveal their natural beauty after a misstep with darker staining. A commissioned artwork in the dining room layered cultural meaning into the home, while custom steel doors and limestone flooring redefined its sense of light and openness.
“Hard decisions, while sometimes costly and time-consuming, are worth every effort. This is your home, your sanctuary for years to come. The question to always ask comes down to… what can I not live with?”
— Georgia Ezra, Designer at Studio Ezra

A Home to Stay
In the end, this house became more than a renovation. The compositional changes redefined the family’s relationship with the space, transforming it from a property they intended to sell into a home they could not imagine leaving. Each choice was imbued with meaning, creating a layered narrative that celebrated their past, their faith, and their future.
