Lumière Lodge, nestled in a glorious, tree-lined street in beautiful Hobart, is truly whimsical. When we at Tilesofezra heard about the exciting project, featuring influence from Sarah Andrews of Captain’s Rest, we just knew this would be one of those special projects that sticks out from the rest.

We are constantly educating our Tilesofezra Tribe about the character a handmade tile can bring to a space; Lumière Lodge is testament to this. The natural variation in these tiles is mesmerizing, bringing life, soul and texture into the home.

There's something about a pink bathroom that really excites us... Add some pink zellige tiles into the equation and you no doubt have a winner. How pretty is this bathroom space? We are obsessed with the restored, stained-glass window.

How cosy and gorgeous is this fireplace and seating area? We spy with our little eyes zellige in the fireplace.. Zellige tiles are perfectly suited to fireplaces, underfloor heating and more. These tiles are made in kilns which reach thousands of degrees so you can rest assured heat is no problem.

We spoke with the lovely Kerran about her experience dealing with Tilesofezra. This is what she had to say...

“I came across the Zellige Tile on Pinterest and fell in love with the uniqueness of each tile… the colour variations and how you could use these tiles in modern and old homes.  They are utterly gorgeous and my favourite.

I googled this tile for sourcing within Australia and came across Tiles of Ezra.  I was able to order samples of each colour and they were sent quickly.  The website is thoughtfully laid out and easily supports decision making in the design process.  I got in touch with the Tiles of Ezra team and they were so lovely and supportive. 

Within a few months we had gorgeous handmade Moroccan Zellige Tiles shipped to our door in Tasmania… the first of their kind in this part of the world I am sure!
