Designed as an effortless escape by Tiny Haven Design, this bathroom blends nostalgic charm with modern touches. The result is a calm, refreshing space that feels warm, elegant, and easy to unwind in.

The Vision: Charm Meets Functionality

The homeowners sought a bathroom that exuded sophistication while maintaining a warm and inviting aesthetic. The existing layout lacked efficiency, so a full reconfiguration was undertaken to optimise the shower, closet, and vanity areas. Drawing inspiration from classic French European interiors, the design team introduced a series of thoughtful details: an arched shower entrance, custom cabinetry, polished brass plumbing fixtures, and plaster-finished walls and ceilings.

A lighthearted moment in the project? The homeowners’ dog earned the nickname Zellige, a playful tribute to the tile that became the centrepiece of the room.

The Role of Tiles in Defining the Space

Tiles of Ezra’s handcrafted zellige tiles were carefully selected to enhance the bathroom’s refined yet timeless feel. The design team knew immediately that a custom version of the mosaic 'ERZ0210' Snow and Blue Grass would make the perfect statement behind the vanity, serving as an eye-catching yet elegant backdrop.

In the shower, EZR1550 Thin Dust Bejmat tiles were laid in a vertically stacked pattern, adding height and visual rhythm. To deepen the material palette, Mont Blanc Quartzite was placed within the niche, offering a gentle contrast and grounding the lighter tones.

A Timeless Colour Palette

The colour scheme for the bathroom was rooted in soft, neutral tones, allowing the natural variation and texture of the zellige tiles to take centre stage. The handmade nature of the tiles infused the space with authenticity, striking the perfect balance between old-world craftsmanship and contemporary luxury.

Completed in February 2023, this transformation is a masterclass in thoughtful design. From its arched shower entryway to the carefully curated tile selections, every detail reflects artistry and refinement.
