Profiled | A Coastal Home with Warmth and Soul

Designed and styled by Arlen Interiors, this South Cronulla residence redefines the idea of a coastal home. Warm, layered and lived-in, the project balances practicality with softness, resulting in a space that feels cosy, authentic, and deeply personal.

Coastal Comfort Meets Everyday Living

The design brief called for a home that felt inviting and functional, yet far from generic. Inspired by coastal living, the client wanted a space with warmth and soul, steering away from the “cookie cutter display home” aesthetic. Arlen Interiors approached the project with their signature ethos: designing homes that feel layered, practical, and full of character. The mood and vibe board created captured this essence, setting the foundation for what would become a heartfelt and transformative renovation.

The Defining Element

At the centre of this transformation was the kitchen — the heart of the open-plan living and dining area. From the moment the client saw the EZTIER1010 Nieve Punto tiles, the decision was clear. Their words each time new options were presented: “Nothing could compare.”

These handmade tiles, with their nuanced surface and artisanal craftsmanship, completely redefined the kitchen. They added warmth while still respecting the client’s natural gravitation toward cooler tones, blending seamlessly into a palette of blues and greens that felt both calming and cosy. Installed seamlessly by tiler Scotty Bellotti, the Nieve Punto splashback was completed in just one day, yet its impact transformed the entire home.

A Palette of Balance

The colour palette played a vital role in shaping the project. While the client was naturally drawn to cooler shades, the priority was to ensure the home felt warm and inviting. The subtle, layered tones of our Nieve Punto tiles achieved this balance perfectly. Their handmade imperfections reflect light in gentle shifts, tying together the kitchen, dining, and living spaces with a sense of harmony and lived-in elegance.

Life by the Coast

Completed in early 2024, the South Cronulla home is now a space that celebrates both beauty and function. More than a design statement, it’s a sanctuary for everyday living — cosy, layered, and full of soul.
